Australian Gold

| 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

This is Australia's gold. This flower is one of my local Wattle varieties Acacia terminalis. I had a lot of trouble identifying which variety it was. To put this into perspective, there are over 2000 different varieties found throughout Australia, and around 20-30 varieties for my area alone!

Passage to Paradise

One of Lawson’s little hidden gems! People have been visiting this spot for over one hundred years. There is a rock with some carvings, and the oldest legible one dating back to 1883.

Further down the track is an abandoned picnic area, where the picnic table is missing it’s top. The table has been there so long now that it’s beginning to look like it’s surroundings, all green and mossy.

By Light of Moon

This is Carey Bay, on the peninsula south-east of Toronto. The peninsula is actually “Coal Point”, and the bay has been called “Cary Bay” since 1973. In recent history (1991), spelt differently, “Carey Bay” was officially made into a separate suburb.

The wharf is from directly behind the Captains Cottage, a beautiful heritage cottage built in 1901 that we stayed at on our honeymoon. This is just one of the many (+800) photos I took on my honeymoon at Lake Macquarie.

Urban Cockatoo

It’s interesting to see that even though there is so much city surrounding this location, the wild birds still come to visit. Only thing is, that this isn’t your typical wild bird, because it was tame, VERY tame!

Victoria Bridge

I'm slowly making my photography available for purchase online. I've decided to use redbubble for it's proven sales results!

First photo for sale it my photo of Victoria Bridge in Emu Plains.

Built in 1867, the bridge was just a simple wrought iron girder bridge that crosses the Nepean River. It took one railway line and a road across the river, however in 1907 another bridge was constructed a few metres to the north which henceforth took two railway lines across the river, and the original bridge reverted to road and pedestrian use only. [ ref. ]

In this photo, I was standing on the west bank, facing South-East. It’s the additional rail bridge built in 1907 that can be seen from this angle.

    Hanging Rock and Baltzer Lookout

This is somewhere I have always wanted to go. Now that I'm out taking photos more often, it looks as though I might get out and finaly photograph this stunning pinch of nature! :P!

Quote: Hanging Rock and Baltzer Lookout - Bushwalking NSW Hanging Rock is a outstanding feature near Baltzer Lookout, at the end of Ridgewell Road, Blackheath. A huge, overhanging block of sandstone over 100m high, jutting out into the Grose Valley, has become detached from the main cliff. It has featured in many calendars and climbing photos, and was also the site of the main climbing scene in "The Edge" movie.

I remember the edge movie... Where I first came to know of this place! :) Now my next challenge, to acctully visit it in real life!
